tarsal joint,
a joint of the tarsus: a) (in man) the joint between the tibia and fibula and the astragalus or tarsus. b) a corresponding joint in other vertebrates. c) (in birds) the joint between the tibia and the metatarsus, or, strictly, between the tarsal elements of the tibia and the tarsal elements of the metatarsus.
